Sennheiser HD 500 Fusion Stereo Headphones
 Having trouble looking for quality studio headphones for under $200 bucks? Believe it or not, Sennheiser has headphones under that price tag, AND they maintain superb quality! I have a cheaper pair of Sennheiser headphones (not sure what model right now), that are not closed cup earphone. Although they have great crispness, my current pair can't handle loud volumes without distorting and also can't handle low frequencies very well. Sennheiser HD 500 Fusion Stereo Headphones changed my opinion for the better! Sennheiser is a respected name in the industry and usually are pricey but good quality. You get what you pay for in this case. Sennheiser HD 500 Fusion phones cost around $100 USD. Cheaper than the usual $200 or $300 that Sennheiser generally charges for other headphones.
Sound Quality
Awesome! I love crisp highs and balanced sound. Most headphones may pierce the eardrums from too much high frequency and mid-range with not enough low end. These headphones produced great balance by putting out great amount of low end. Being that it's a closed ear cup design, it's easier to produce low end. The low-frequency produced by these headphones will please any DJ who uses the bass drum as the primary beat for mixing.
Sound Separation / Noise blocking
Sennheiser HD 500 Fusion phones have a ?semi-open-air? design, which does allow some music to escape the closed ear cups and also allow some external noise to enter. So don't take these into your open office at work and crank em. People will hear it. I think that the semi-open-air design will be beneficial for DJ's who do not have much monitoring capability or need to hear the house sound a little, in order to mix.
Comfort
Excellent. I listen to music all day at work as well as at home. The headphones have alot of padding to make these incredibly comfortable. Though the headphone may seem big, the comfort will be noticable while the weight will not be noticed at all. They are extremely lightwight to the point of surprise.
Durability
Though the headphones don't fold up to be compact, the headphones are designed so that you can change the ear pads and the cord. The cord is lined with Kevlar and is disconnectable. This is great for DJs because if you leave your headphones plugged into the mixer and your records are a few feet away, if someone steps into your path or you exceed the length of the cord, it will disconnect itself instead of ripping the cord out of the headphones or damaging the plug. The plug uses a 1/8 inch plug verses a 1/4 inch plug. The headphones are packaged with a plug converter to 1/4 inch for pro audio such as mixers while giving versatility for portable CD players and computer sound cards. Sennheiser designed the cord with a low-oxygen copper cable (Oxygen Free Copper), which makes for improved quality by lowering the amount of signal loss between the sound source and the headset.
